Rocco and Katrina had a classic elegant wedding at Ralston’s Crossings in Arvada, Colorado. Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful. As with most 2020 weddings, Katrina and Rocco ran into some COVID woes: this was the third time that they had to reschedule their wedding. They had originally planned a destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico, which was cancelled and moved back to Colorado due to the bride’s mother finding out she had cancer. The second venue had to limit the amount of people down to 25 including any staff, so Rocco and Katrina finally found their spot at Ralston’s Crossing where they were able to keep the guest count as close to the original number as possible.
Katrina got ready at the couples’ brand new home. They finished building it right before their wedding day, and to say the house is beautiful, is an understatement.
Rocco got ready in a nearby hotel.
Both the bride and groom met up at the venue location, staying separate so that he would not see his bride before the ceremony itself. During that time, Katrina got dressed with the help of her mom, and we also took some separate bridal party photos in different areas of the venue.
After the bridal party photos, it was game time. As the guests got seated, and Rocco walked out, you could feel the energy of anticipation from everyone. It had been so long awaited, and they finally got to say “I do”. Some of my favorite highlights included a fortune cookie fortune that Katrina kept from just a few months in their relationship that stated “Your love is right in front of you” as she was talking on the phone with Rocco, random jokes thrown around during the vows, and all the cute reactions from all of the guests.
While everyone else ran off to cocktail hour, we grabbed family photos, and bridal party photos, as well as some more bridal photos of Katrina.
The rest of their afternoon and evening consisted of speeches from family and friends, the best mother/son dance I have ever seen, and of course, the cake in the face after the cake cutting. It was truly an incredible day to be surrounded by so much love.
